The results of a study conducted by CLEAN-Air (Africa) investigating the impact of use of energy-efficient cookware on LPG adoption has been published in Energy for Sustainable Development.
Researchers based at the University of Liverpool and KEMRI found that the enhanced cookware were extremely well-received by the study participants and supported greater uptake of LPG among low-income households.
The work highlights the potential for energy-efficient pots to increase heat retention and speed of cook long-durations foods on LPG which may promote sustainable adoption of clean cooking in Kenya.
